Workshop Natural dye & Pattern making - 17 August 2024
Would you like to learn pattern techniques and experiment with botanical dyes ?
In this workshop we will draw and print designs on fabric with soy milk and mordant ink.
Afterwards we dye the fabrics in various dyebaths and we use as well the Japanese shibori technique to create beautiful patterns.
Be surprised and dive into the world of natural dyeing with me.
This workshop will cover:
- various types of plants and foodwaste and extracting colour
- using different pattern techniques to achieve different results
- preparing different fabrics for the dyeing process
- how to make plant colors light- and wash fast
You will go home with textile samples and a statement piece: a cotton fabric printed in your favorite technique.

The workshop is held in dutch and optional in english ( if one or more participants are not talking dutch)
